I have the same question I opened Word as administrator and it immediately opened an Activation Wizard to activate the product this did not happen when I installed from the DVD I burned originally.

I entered the Product Key supplied to us by Microsoft and followed the next steps displayed on the screen. I exited Word and reopened it. The top section displays " Product Activated " but under that is a yellow box that displays "Product Activation Required ". The yellow box does not display that there is a specific amount of days remaining to activate the product which is usually what should be displayed.

I think it is actually activated but I am not sure because of the information displayed in the yellow box.

Previously I burned the. I took the above approach this time to see if it made a difference. I thought I may get an answer here quicker.

In their initial reply they showed 98 remaining activations out of our allowed activations. Since then I have tried the installation and activation a couple more times.
